It's Ok to Cry

And thou shalt remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or not. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live....Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end.

(Deu 8:2-3, 16)

Someone once asked me something along the lines of whether or not I ever thought of giving up this journey I'm on with the Lord my God. If I ever had doubted His existence, if I ever thought of throwing in the towel. A good question indeed, but one that has always and will always have one single, solitary, impenetrable answer...

...never.

Have there been tears? Of course! Are there tears? Of course! Will there be tears? Of course! Did not King David make tears his bed? Did not Jesus weep at times? Did not Paul cry over the churches he himself planted and cared for? O reader, be not ashamed nor afraid of the heartache that may...rather that will come along your pursuit of He who is the Creator of your soul. Look to the words written to the children of Israel above. The deserts and wildernesses of our lives come so that, "...he might prove [you], to do thee good at thy latter end." Do you believe this? Consider Romans 8:28

In the words of a brother and sister duo whose music I totally enjoy:

"It's Ok to Cry' by LaRue

God will save you boy, you just have to believe
that beautiful things work out, from broken times just like these.

God could save you girl, in this desert time of need
lay your ashes down, in hope of what you will see....you will see...

It's ok to cry, it's ok to wonder why, and as your tears fall down, they heal the ground,
a place that once was dry.
It's ok to cry.

God will save us now, let His presence bring us peace,
lay your burdens down, let them fall at His feet....

Your fears are great in your mind, your heart just aches for a sign,
but there is hope, there is grace, in these gray skys!

It's ok to cry, it's ok to wonder why, and as your tears fall down, they heal the ground,a place that once was dry. It's ok to cry.
