Ahh...the famous pork of Singapore. It has been described to me as...oh what was it he said..."a clogged artery with a side order of heart attack..." Anything that tastes this good (and it DOES taste good) is bound to be bad for your health... *sigh*
So goes my expression at the sight of dog poop nicely spread along the public walkway near my apartment on my way to work today. I don't know if it was my natural instincts or an angel of the Lord that protected my 3 year old left sneaker from meeting an untimely demise this morning. But I praised God anyway for "...deliver[ing] me from all evil..." He keeps His Word indeed.
My winter holiday is coming up soon. We have 2 weeks off from school which is bangin'! I'm doing my best to save some $$$ so I won't be going anywhere special. I suppose I could take a trip to...say, eastern Singapore. Ya, that might do. I think that is where the Singapore Zoo is. They have a night safari which I have yet to go to. My Japanese students say it is really cool. Maybe I'll go during the day just to wake up all the night animals and throw off their sense of time and space. haha..
The camp in Malaysia this year was beyond words. Suffice it to say that life has yet again taken on new meaning for me...I think for all who were involved. God is just getting started. He is about to fulfill the prophecy of Joel in a very VERY big way. The latter day rain is turning into a pouring rain storm and we are beginning to see the effects of it. Rain on, Lord. Reign on...
I met someone from Connecticut there! AWESOME...he's an outdoors dude too. Taking troubled kids outdoors for some rockclimbing and kayaking. We were talking and I had to tell myself to stop drooling during our conversation. Let's just say if I didn't know any better I'd be over there and begging him to work for/with him. haha! We're going to stay in touch and I pray the Lord that we'll get a chance to meet up again. Hopefully on the side of a mountain somewhere or something.
Jesus is so very good to us! I will sing of His love morning by morning! I will talk of His goodness while walking by the way! He is to be exalted above all thoughts and emotions! Jesus is the potter and I am the clay! Oh praise be to His most majestic name from which the enemy flees in all directions!
How fleeting is this life. How petty our wants and desires when compared to His providence and grace. How we long to be found in Him daily...in His presence, in His favor, in His love. Yea, as haply as we believe and want this, we will be found resting in the shadow of His wings. So fly, my Jesus, fly on until we reach the secret place of the most High.
